Smart Money Seminar: Protecting Yourself Against Fraud

Bank of Hawaii is partnering with the Financial Services Roundtable, Navy League, USO and Operation Homefront to provide a community service event for our island communities and military service personnel and families. Volunteers will help beautify portions of Makalapa Elementary School and Radford High School and will also be promoting traffic slow down awareness on Salt Lake Blvd.

The bank will also be conducting a Smart Money Seminar for community members including, but not limited to, the Military and Family Support Center, Navy League, and Makalapa Elementary School and Radford High School students and families. The topic of the Smart Money Seminar will be Protecting Yourself Against Fraud. This seminar will cover:

  • Advance Fee Fraud Schemes: single most common form of fraud
  • Variations of advance fee fraud: lottery winnings, transfer of hidden funds, unexpected inheritances
